The speech focused on the issue of gender equality. The meaning of sex and gender is different. Sex refers to the biological differences between males and females.
Gender is not a part of the natural order, it is not a natural given, but it is defined by society, so what it means to be a man or woman can change and is changing every day. Gender is more about how men and women see themselves in society.
Depending on where you are from, what religion/ethnicity/age/social class you are, and in what period of history you were born.
