The article analyses the reactions of international criminal justice to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with particular attention to the prosecution of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression.
It reviews the role of the International Criminal Court, investigative mechanisms established within the United Nations system, and complementary national and international responses. The article highlights both the potential and the structural limitations of current accountability mechanisms, stressing the need for effective responses to grave violations of international law.
