ISIS and the Crimes Against the Yazidi Group. “When ISIS attacked Sinjar, they came to destroy”.

– The Federal Lawyer, November Issue 2019 –

Nadia Murad won the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize. She is a 25 years old Yazidi woman who was captured by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) and was a victim of war crimes. Nadia refused to accept the social codes that require women to remain silent and ashamed of the abuses they have been subjected to. Instead, she has shown uncommon courage in recounting her sufferings and speaking up on behalf of other victims.
